Suspected Palestinian Car Thief Shot Dead After Crashing Into West Bank Bus Stop

A Palestinian driver was shot and killed by soldiers on Tuesday morning after a suspected car chase when he crashed into a bus stop near the West Bank settlement of Ariel.

A soldier fired at the Palestinian after he tried to flee the scene on foot. He was evacuated to receive medical attention but soon succumbed to his wounds and pronounced dead.

No other casualties were reported. It is unclear whether people were waiting at the site of the collision.

The Israeli army is investigating the incident.

The Palestinian man, in his 30s, was driving a private vehicle with an Israeli license plate that he was suspected of stealing.
