Israel’s Song for Eurovision 2020 in English, Hebrew, Amharic and Arabic
"Feker Libi" by 19-year-old singer Eden Alene was chosen on Tuesday to represent Israel in the Eurovision 2020 contest, set for May in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The Amharic title of the song means "The Love of My Heart" and has lyrics in four languages: English, Hebrew, Amharic and Arabic.
It was chosen by a professional jury and viewers out of four songs performed by Alene, the first Israeli singer of Ethiopian descent to represent her country in the international song contest, in a live TV event that aired on Kan public broadcaster.

Alene will first compete in the first semi-final of the competition on May 12, where she will fight for a spot in the final on May 16. Israel has made it to the final of the contest in all of the past five years.
This will be the fourth time a song written by Medalie represents Israel in Eurovision. He wrote "Toy," which brought Netta the victory in 2018, as well as "Golden Boy," sung by Nadav Guedj in 2015, and "Made of Stars," sung by Hovi Star in 2016. Yinon Yahel, who produced "Feker Libi," was also behind the production of "Golden Boy," which finished ninth in the 2015 final.
