The Chaim Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer in the central Israeli city of Ramat Gan has been ranked as one of the top ten hospitals in the world by the U.S. magazine Newsweek for the second year running.

The ranking is based on data collected by the magazine and a panel made up of doctors, medical professionals, and statisticians from four continents, with the complete list including 1,000 hospitals.

Newsweek emphasized the diversity of fields covered by Sheba, including general and acute care, as well as specific work with women and children. It also stressed the role of the medical center's different divisions, including its rehabilitation hospital, and special clinics for eating disorders and post-traumatic stress disorders in soldiers.
