Israeli Man Killed Is Fourth Victim in His Family, 91st in Community This Year

A 27-year-old man was shot dead Saturday morning near a bakery in the Arab Israeli city of Kafr Qasem. The man, Johar Abu Jaber, is the fourth person in his family to be murdered within a year. Police suspect that the three others were murdered, yet none of their cases has been resolved.

Abu Jaber is  the 91st victim of violence in Arab community since the beginning of the year.

Police are searching for the shooters, who fled the scene.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that two masked men shot Abu Jaber at close range near the bakery, where he died from his wounds on the spot, and fled. Police are investigating the possibility that the incident is a result of a conflict in Abu Jaber's family.

The family members are also involved in a dispute with another family in Kafr Qasem, due to competition between the two families' building material businesses.
