Israel Demolishes Homes of Two Palestinian Suspects in West Bank Murder of Jewish Teen

The Israeli military demolished the homes of two Palestinians on Wednesday night who committed an attack that killed an Israeli teenager at a West Bank spring in August, the army said Thursday.

According to the Shin Bet, Yazam Mughamis of Ramallah took part in planning and carrying out the attack that killed 17-year-old Rina Shnerb near the West Bank settlement of Dolev, while Walid Hanatsheh of Bir Zeit was a member of the terrorist cell behind it.

Dozens of Palestinians burned tires and threw stones and Molotov cocktails at troops during the demolitions, and soldiers used riot dispersal methods, the army statement added.

The High Court of Appeals rejected petitions against the demolitions presented by the families of Hanatsheh and Mughamis, the army added. The High Court is set to discuss a petition on March 16 by the family of a third member of the cell behind the attack, Qasem Shabli.

Seventeen-year-old Rina Shnerb was killed near the West Bank settlement of Dolev by an explosive device that was detonated as she was hiking along the Ein Buvin spring in August. Her father Eytan and her brother Dvir were wounded moderately and seriously, but survived.
