Gaza Rockets Fired for Third Day in a Row, Israel Strikes Hamas Targets

Three rockets were fired from Gaza into southern Israel on Monday morning, the Israeli army said.

During the night, Israeli tanks shelled several Hamas outposts in Gaza after rockets were fired from the enclave and several brush fires were started by incendiary balloons on Sunday. Israel also announced that it was shutting the Erez border crossing.

On Sunday evening, two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip toward southern Israel, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement on Sunday after sirens sounded in Ashkelon and the area immediately surrounding the Gaza border.

One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system, and the other landed in an open area, the statement added. No casualties were reported. Later, the military said two more rockets had been fired but fell short and landed within the Gaza Strip.

No casualties were reported. Later, the military said two more rockets had been fired but fell short and landed within the Gaza Strip.
